Solo World Record Rules

These rules are based on those laid down by The IJA Numbers Championships and JISCON, which are widely accepted in the juggling community when judging world records.

Prop specifications
  • Balls must be roughly spherical objects, including beanbags
  • Clubs must be roughly cylindrical objects with a well defined narrower handle section and wider body section
  • Rings must be roughly circular and flat objects
Counting and timing runs
  • Runs over 250 catches will be compared on the basis of time alone
  • Time is measured from the moment the first throw leaves the hand to the moment the last valid catch touches the hand
  • Catches are counted from the first catch of the run until the first drop is made, so the final run is a consecutive series of catches with no missed catch in between
  • One hand records may be part of a two handed pattern as long as the props do not exchange between hands
A world record
A run is eligible to be listed if:
  • It represents a current or former world's longest run of a pattern
  • There is publicly available video evidence clearly showing the run such that it can be independently verified to adhere to the rules listed here
  • It achieves at least a "flash" of the pattern, where each object has been thrown and caught once
